So it has been a LONG time since the last post... lets get everyone up to speed then we will add pictures...
Emma is doing really well. We got the g-tube in the stomach and it has made feeding much easier. A new concept for us is being able to feed Emma on the go. She has a pump so we no longer have to push her food in with a syringe. She is 22 Lbs 10 oz so she is growing like a weed. We finally switched her to
PediaSure and are working up to 8 oz 5 times a day... we will see. She
officially turned 1 on March 21 and was home with us for a year on April 13
th. We celebrated each of these milestones in Emma's life. She is now getting speech therapy 2x a week because she has no words as of yet. She can point to her head and belly when asked and knows were the lights are and will follow simple commands but is just not ready to talk yet. Feeding is still a struggle as she will take bites of everything and eat nothing at the same time. We are working to desensitize her gums and tongue. Emma is so happy!
Kayla will turn 5 months tomorrow. It is hard to believe. She is really tall and has the chubbiest cheeks ever. She loves watching Emma and is talking and
squealing and laughing now. It is fun to see her grow. Her new thing is to roll over. We are not sure if it is because her head is so heavy or what but she is doing it and it is fun to watch. We don't think she knows how to make it happen. Kayla no longer sleeps through the night so we are trying to work with this. She is
however taking naps during the day.
On to the pictures

Mommy, I promise I didn't do it... just look at my face.

We make Emma leave her "mommy's shirt" (aka blanket) in her crib. She will now crawl to the crib and get it out. She even checks out Kayla's crib if it is not in hers.
We hope to post a bit more frequently.
