Update!!!

Well, I'm alive... And, based on how long it's been since the last substantive post, I'm guessing most of the reading audience has grown weary and left. Therefore, I decided to employ a tactic that sitcoms often use when viewership dwindles... but more on that later...

As for me, I've been doing well. The Illinois Bar Exam was a fun couple days, and while I've enjoyed being done, it seems like we are constantly on the go. I feel like the bar exam went really well, and although we don't hear back until mid-October, I feel happy with my performance. Since then I have been working on stuff around the house and spending time with the family... who would think it would take so much energy? Other than that, I start work on September 4th, we love our neighborhood, and the house is great (aside from the large amount of work I've been doing... anyone want to help restain a fence?).

As for Emma, she has been doing great. We're not quite sure of her weight at this time. We went to a pediatrician near our house a couple weeks ago, but I'm not sure that their scale worked... and, actually, the doctor was the worst doctor I've ever dealt with... nothing like calling Liz a liar, telling us that we don't know our child, and telling us that our choice of doctors is all wrong and we should go with the ones that she gets paid to endorse...

Back to Emma. Emma is getting big... probably close to 15 pounds. While she is not eating well at all, everything else seems to be going well. Her hair is as red as ever, and her eyes are still blue. Her vocal chord appears to be getting better, as she is significantly louder and is making some baby sounds (rather than just dinosaur sounds). She loves to chew on everything, particularly anything made of cloth...

She is getting closer to crawling everyday, and while she isn't there yet we know it won't be long. She has just started to be able to sit up on her own for a short period of time w/ out assistance. And while she continues to work on her standing and walking, we're a ways off from her walking by herself yet. On a happier note for mom and dad, Emma now takes a 3 hour nap during the day, and goes to bed about 8:30, eats around 4am, goes back to bed, and usually gets up at 8am!

Now... for PICTURES!

Emma in Liz's shoes...

The newest sign that your baby may be ready for a nap... she starts sucking on her thumb...

Our little angel...

Emma on her mat...

Emma's monkey.... one of her favorite animals to play with and try and eat... there is no way Emma is going to be a vegetarian...

Emma's first attempt at eating cereal... let's just say that Emma did much better with the plastic ring than the cereal...

Emma, in bed, lights off... with an unexpected camera flash... ok, it probably wasn't the nicest thing to do, but the pictures are funny...

And that's all for Emma...

Liz is doing well... she has enjoyed her time in Oak Park, and has already found Target! She has met several stay at home moms in the neighborhood and have met lots of people. We are really happy with the house / neighborhood we selected (ok... Liz selected).

Getting back to my earlier point... to increase viewership, we are pulling a tactic out of sitcoms that have been on the air too long and are losing viewership... we are adding a character. That's right, by December 9th, 2007, there will be another addition to the Sullivan family... No word on the sex of the baby yet though...

So far, the pregnancy is going well. Liz is on limited movement, and had a cerclage earlier this summer. She is currently going to the doctor once a week, and so far everything looks perfect, so we are keeping our fingers crossed. In fact, if we were to look at this pregnancy in comparison to the one with Emma... we would be having this new baby on Friday (aka in a couple days). But, as we said, Liz's doctors (who are great) have assured us that everything is perfect at this point with both mom and baby.

Emma, Liz, and baby in the making...

Well, I hope that everyone has enjoyed this update... I promise, there will be more in the future, and a little more frequently (it would be hard to get less frequent I guess).

Chad, you really made me laugh with this blog. I loved the pictures, especially the ones of Emma in the dark with an unexpected flash. I'm glad everyone is well and we can't we to meet the newest baby Sullivan. Wait! I changed my mind, we CAN wait and hope to wait till December to get to meet Emma's sibling. :)
Love to you all, Jenny

Congratulations Sullivans! Such a sweet picture of Emma, Mom, and new baby. Sorry about the lame doctor visit. That sounds awful!
