A new thing???

Oh man... what a crazy day! It has been raining here all day. We have heard reports that we have had at least 8 inches of rain today. There is a lot of flooding in Chicago... not as bad as Houston I am sure but we have Ike coming our way tomorrow.

At either rate...

Ever since we returned from Europe, Kayla has had a hard time staying asleep. This morning she was up at 5:00. We brought her upstairs and she fell asleep on my chest at 6:45. It was so wonderful to have her sleep on me again... it has been a long time since that has happened.

It is nice and warm so we let Emma and Kayla play outside today for a few minutes during a period where we had light rain. Emma kept saying wet wet wet. It was so cute.

We ran a few errands today and bought a training potty for Emma. We have been talking about potty training her in a few months but we thought we would buy a potty today. When we got home we took it out of the box and set it up. Emma was quick to explore the potty and sat on it right away. Chadwick explained to her about going potty on the potty. She was so excited that he took off her diaper and let her sit on the potty. Then he went to feed Kayla dinner. Liz was talking with Emma about using the potty and kept asking "do you want to be all done" Emma kept saying Nooooooo. Then she got up from the potty and Liz told her she had to wear a diaper if not on the potty. Emma said poop, sat on the potty and low and behold she pooped on the potty. Here it is...
The empty potty.. not the poop...

We got a potty that plays music when something hits the sensors and Emma was so excited about the music that she asked to use the potty 5 times in the 2 hours we had it... she went every time... We are some proud parents...

Now, we have no dreams that she is potty trained but it was really exciting for us and for Emma, she was so proud of herself...

Now onto the pictures...
This is Emma having a really bad hair day... actually, she just finished a breakfast of vanilla/chocolate swirl with chocolate syrup. That sounds like most kids dream breakfast but as you can see, Emma ended up wearing more then she put in her mouth. The best part of the story is her feeding therapist was here :)
A close up of her face...
Hey mom... how do you like my new hair do? I did it just for you!
All cleaned up
Hello Kayla... I love her blue blue eyes in this picture

sup' to all my homies!
Have you seen my mommy shirt?
